Like the old mule that fell in the ravine? Too old to try to pull out, the farmer and his friends decided to bury the mule there. But as they dumped the shovels full of dirt down on the mule, it simply shook off the dirt, ... and stepped up. This kept on as the farmer and friends continued to pile the dirt in, step up, shake it iff, step up, shake it off.. until the mule simply stepped out of the intended grave.

Like a great Bulldog(or and old mule, or a frog in a crane's mouth), DON'T EVER GIVE UP !!!

Did you know if your clothes dryer goes out....it will probably be 4-5 days before you can get a new one in your home??? No store , such as Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowes, or Sears keeps anything in stock. Once you decide what you want...you must wait for it to be shipped from a warehouse in Dallas, Texas! Can you say, pack mule, boys and girls?? We had to hang some towels out on a line yesterday. ( We live in a rural neighborhood.) You would be surprised at how many people slow down and look at the towels as they drive by. You would think they had never seen a clothes line before. I guess they think I can no longer afford a clothes dryer. And, NO, I don't intend on taking my clothes to a Laundromat!! This saga will go on til Wednesday.

Never had that problem here in the Houston area. Had to go to the warehouse one time to pick something up myself. Just had a new fridge delivered in one or two days.

Yep...they have warehouses in Houston and Dallas. The old man and pack mule didn't have to go very far to deliver your fridge. On Wednesday, they are to receive my dryer in the store in Shreveport. But, I still have to drive to Shreveport to get it and then take it back to Natchitoches.

Yeah, but the Sears service man comes from Laredo and if he hasn't got the part it won't be fixed until his next trip. I quit using Sears for repairs.

I quit using Sears for anything. Craftsman isn't worth a damn anymore....especially lawn tractors and accessories. AND, as for MAYTAG.....you don't see that commercial anymore about the MAYTAG repairman having nothing to do. Why...because he is working his butt off fixing all their crappy appliances. If you buy anything Maytag...you are wasting your money!!

Agree on that. My Maytag fridge lasted only about eight years/

A Maytag washer or dryer will last less than that.

    On this day in History:

    In 1540,

England's King Henry VIII had his 6-month-old marriage to his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, annulled.

    In 1776,

The Declaration of Independence was read aloud to Gen. George Washington's troops in New York.

    AAAAAANNNNNNDDDD!

1962, Bob Dylan records "Blowin' in the Wind," although it was not "released" for almost a year later on The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan album.
Peter Paul & Mary's version of the song got the most recognition.

Back to sports - OTDIH - 1948, Satchel Paige, two days after his 42nd birthday, made his MLB debut pitching 2 innings for the Cleveland Indians. (Oops, make that the Browns??? I wasn't born 'til a year later)
