If it was Cleveland, and I believe it was, it was the Indians. The Browns were in St. Louis until the 1954 season when they moved to Baltimore to become the Orioles. If you're interested that same year the Braves moved from Boston to Milwaukee and the Athletics moved from Philadelpis to Kansas City. The last tow teams have since moved again but keeping their nick names. The Senators of course had two incarnations -- the first movd to Minneapolis and the last to Arlington. I guess that's why they decided on a new name. The most famous were the moves to the West Coast by the Dodgers and the Giants for the 1958 season leaving only one team in NYC until the Mets in 1962. I don't personally remember the moves before 1958, just a trivia buff I guess.
Now if you really want to get esoteric try following the early NFL franchises and the NBA teams. The Arizona Cardinals started in Chicago and the Rams started in Cleveland. Seem like the Colts started out in Dallas in the old All America League along with the Cleveland Browns. Of course the Dallas Texans moved to Kansas City by agreement between Murchison and their owner (Ican never think of that oil mans name).
