    Big Dog / Diamond Formation

Anyone know if we will still use this? It was extremely effective all season last year. The new OC needs to spread his wings and run his already effective playbook but it would be nice to see him incorporate some of our more effective stuff from last year, especially this play. I don't think you have to have an amazing WR AND RB to run it well. But you do need one or the other. The only difference is instead of focusing on Patton thereby giving Dixon more room, it could make them come up to handle Dixon which could give Turner/Johnson/Banks more room.

our O-line is what made this work so well.

True to an extent. But our O-Line is what made every play work so well. I don't believe at all that this is a play you only run when you have an overly experienced OL. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to learn how to set up in the backfield and block from that formation. Our coaches can teach 80% of the lineman on our roster how to do this. The less mobile lineman will simply not be considered.
