The new Nat/addition to Lambright is the "new" architectural design. This is what architecture has been moving towards over the last few years. We learn a lot about this style... it doesn't really have a name as of yet, but I would classify it as a modern vernacular style (modernizing an area's "traditional" design ideals, in our case Louisiana Architecture). Ashe Broussard and Weinzettle, the firm that designed it is a strong advocate for this style of architecture. Their office is here in Alexandria, and they have done a few buildings around here in the same style. One of the better known and award winning is the Links on the Bayou Clubhouse -



They also did the St. Landry Visitors Center in the same style -



They also designed those "institutional" on campus apartments. Ok done hijacking the thread! I just enjoy sharing my architectural knowledge when I get the chance; that is why I'm paying Tech the big bucks right?

Yes that was the one I was speaking of. Appeared white in daylight across the street. I was not talking about the apartments. They have been there for quite some time. The last time I was there was less than three years ago.

So sorry that I deviated, I was just trying to help the guy... Here's a football question for yah, why does it look like Higgins is doing most of the reps in most of these videos that are being posted? Interested enough for yah?

If I'm not mistaken, it's been up for the last 3 years. I know it has been for 2. If you've been back, in that time frame, you would have noticed it unless, say, it doesn't look as bad in person as it does in the video because of probably the angle, etc... It blends in really well with the IC upgrade and, I think, looks very nice in person. I admit it really does stand out in the video. And Dawgpix, the bikinis aren't in the Nat but next to the pool outside. I only say this because when I bring dirtylegacy to the pool, every now and then I might just happen to notice a coed or two.

To finish hijacking this thread (continuing practices are being covered elsewhere anyway) what happened to the old pool in front of Memorial Gym. I know it had been enclosed, but did they tear down the structure and fill it in for green space?

I agree. I took a tour of it at homecoming last year and it is really nice. I love all the glass.

What photo? I believe he was referencing the video. That building, the new Lambright, is all in that video. Like, literally, every 5-10 seconds.
