Architects think too much. Just make it look like Keeny or Bogard. Classic is classic for a reason. I'm sure some architect was touting Wiley Tower as a great architectural work at one time too.
I am still working with my red Legos. Should be finished in time for a press release of the design in 2015.
No, there won't be one until TBA announces it. I have to agree and disagree. Architects do seem to take things too far (much like artist or dress designers), but from the perspective of most people my age looking at colleges, "Tech looks like a rundown campus waiting to be bulldozed," for the most part (these are words from one of my friends from Dubai that I agree with). You don't have to make odd looking buildings like you posted as that looks like a bunch of crap too, but something that isn't just one tone of absolute bland and have some dimensional differences would be cool.

It was posted back in the Dooley era. Many on BB&B hated the "Frank Lloyd Wright" look.

I thought that was pretty ambitious.
Wrightian design is all about integrating with the natural surroundings.
FLW wouldn't wipe his backside with those drawings.

I think his standards might be a bit out of touch.
Other than the Stalin era to be demo'd dorms, the need for extensive landscaping, and the elem school level concession stands - I think it is nice looking.
