Our band and the Lamar band looked exactly the same... Red shirts and dark pants/shorts...
Monken seems to do stuff like this to get attention. Didn't we have a red out game not too long ago when the band wore blue?
Who cares? Geeze people. Band doesn't have 3 uniform options to pick from. They went with red this year and the team we played happened to be red. So what?
We wore blue polos years ago.
Right now, our choice is red polo and blue shorts, or full band uniform (which has red on it btw). If you seriously have a problem with this, shoot Robken an e-mail and start making donations.
So what if you wore blue years ago? We're supposed to be getting everyone to wear blue! And right now your choice is red? But why should you choose red when the fans are told to wear blue (even though some didn't get the memo yet)? No one is saying you should have on the hot, hot blue full uniforms. We're talking blue shirts--like show leadership by helping get the word out to wear blue, not that "I'll wear red anyway since the band does, I can, too." Why is that hard to understand?
Oh, and they looked just like Ruston High band as well as Lamar's. Looked like black shorts and not navy, but I don't care about that part, just the red shirts. And the performance was fine, so I'm not dissing that.
Tradition is important. Blue was a tradition, but folks in leadership roles like Robken apparently decided they didn't care for the tradition.
Time for Robken to move on.
HD and Paris, Neck it the song that you'll hear BOP and the pep band play often. Good song, but some folks get tired of it.
I've never been one to bash the band but we were playing a team whose main color is RED! Our main color is blue.....wear blue. Robken shouldn't have ordered red polos unless they were specifically for the red out game. If you think I'm "complaining" that's fine but we looked like a high school band. Every person sitting around me mentioned how bad it looked.
