    What about Paul Harris?

Just thinking out loud...He is a Senior and has 14 career starts and according to his old OC: "The biggest thing Paul has going for him is the he just exudes confidence," NSU offensive coordinator Todd Cooley said. "That confidence is a big part of what makes him a good leader."
He sure can't be any worse.

Paul need to practice with the one's and two's this week to get ready to play. He has a good arm, he can run, and HE CAN'T possibly do any worse. Why not let him play. If Scotty is hurt and can't play or if he doesn't play well then why not give Paul a change. I believe the Higgins experiment demonstrated that he is not ready to handle the pressure of a game. The coaches throughout camp described him as having a tendency to be careless with the ball, makes bad decisions. That would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. After what I saw last night Scotty is our ONLY option if the coaches assessment of Harris accurate (meaning that he is truly behind Higgins in talent and performance). However, I suspect that Higgins and Harris are close in ability and perhaps Higgins is not as "rattled" in practice and scrimmage play as he looked last night. Last night he choked under pressure. So again, why not put Harris in the game if Scotty doesn't work out.

This! I was screaming for anything other than what we put on the field last night.

    Paul Harris.
    DJ Banks.
    Richie Casey.
Taylor Burch. (Beg him to come back.)
    Zach Griffith.
    Anybody.

What we were doing obviously wasn't working.

    Re: What about Paul Harris?

In the postgame interview Holtz said that we had a play package for Harris and that he regrets not using it last night. At least he seems willing to make an adjustment. Clearly Higgins is NOT ready yet- give him a couple of years. We need a CONFIDENT QB and Harris' reputation is exactly that. Now can he hit DJ Banks when he is 5 yards behind the defense? Hopefully we will soon find out.

    Re: What about Paul Harris?

It is time to start Harris. He is a Senior-RS QB who played in 21 games for NSU and he started 14 of those games. He has started at QB (albeit not FBS) for an entire season more than any QB on our roster. He is in NSU's career top 10 in both passing yardage (2,832 yards) and total offense (3,632 yards). Get it done Petersen and Holtz!!!

START Harris. If he stinks it up, we'll shut up. He might win though.

    Re: What about Paul Harris?

Somebody back me up on this... I told everybody in my general area that Paul Harris is FAR and AWAY the most exciting player we have at qb (after that open scrimmage in fall camp)! It's not only what he does, but how the other players feed off of his energy. From what I saw last night, we're not going to get any better going with what we've got. We are getting worse. Open up the play book if you'd like, it's not gonna help. I would not hesitate to start Harris if I was Holtz.

    Re: What about Paul Harris?

At this point who cares if most of Harris' experience is against FCS competition. The way we are play we would struggle against beat most FCS teams (LAMAR ). Also, where is Zach Griffith? Is he not on roster? Heck he was the #2 guy last year. At this point we need a SY package, a PH package and a wildcat package that includes King, a healthy Dixon and H-LEE. There are a lot of teams on our schedule that we can hold to 21-24 pts. so we only need 1 TD per quarter - just half octane would suffice.

ha T. Burch was sitting next to us at the game and we were tellin him to suit up and help the team out. Our offense was a complete joke last night

And energy is exactly what this offense needs! They are just going through the motions right now. Which begs the questions...is Harris is as bad as what we've seen the first 3 games? Are we starting/playing the younger guys cause they have potential, and are the future? We've been down that road before. Starting Colby before he was ready, and then Isham the next year.
