Curious as to your opinion on what the record would be with Dykes still at the helm? I think we almost certainly beat Tulane and Kansas but I am not confident we would have defeated Army. So would everyone be relatively happy if we were 3-2?

Spangler would be gone. He would be shopping for a new D.

Also, I think Dykes way of running his ship would add to more wins. I'm not sure what is going on behind the scene, but I assume it's a complete mess with Holtz.

YES we should be able to beat the bottom dwelling BCS schools EVERY YEAR! The last time Kansas team beat a FBS team was Sept 10 2011 - That's more than two years! And Army isn't a BCS school but they've generally got a soft schedule and have had 1 winning season in the last 11(? maybe more) years. They went 6-6 in 09ish and then won a bowl game to get above .500.

Kansas is the worst BCS football team in America so yes, we have no business losing to them.

Just take a look at the records of every HC since Lambright and you will find 60% wins is as good as it gets over a couple of years. Better than that gets better pay elsewhere. Worse than that gets fired. It's been painful to watch this year and I've seen them all in person this year. But I'm going to give this coaching staff a season to get it together before making a call. Recruiting and post-season activity will tell a lot about this coach. There's not enough evidence yet to call for his firing even though I have never seen worse football played through five games.

We gave Jack Bicknell 8 years to prove himself. In that time we got exactly one bowl game and we were blown out 24-49 in that game. That year earned him a new 5-year contract for more humiliation and subpar results on the field.

We see the same type of coaching errors and massively conservative philosophy in Holtz, but we don't need 8 years to learn what we already know. Sorry.
