He kept coming out, and tried to run sprints on the sideline, sometimes collapsing. Looked like he was battling a knee injury throughout the game.

That really sucks. Way to thin at LB. However, running the dumba** "gator" defense while they were running all over us was pretty silly. Never once saw a heavier line up to stop it.

THIS was the entire problem. They are running the "Wild Owl" and we have a nickel back in rather than THREE LB'S!!!!! Was Spangler coaching this from afar? Stupid package to put in. When they are doing this, it is never a good idea to have 5 DB's in the game!

This is what I was screaming the whole game! Why do we have 5 DBs and only 2 LBs in the game when Rice is running all over us? Holtz never put a third LB in the game. Terrible coaching.

Was it just me, or did it seem Bicknellish that we were down some 24 points with the ball and 2 mins to go in the 1st half. Then with 3 timeouts in hand, we watched the clock run out?!? I may be wrong as I was in a bar in Alabama and stuck in the corner with one small TV and surrounded by screaming Bama people. My wife stated it was a little embarrassing that we asked them to switch one of the TVs to the game only to get monkey stomped...

Holtz must get a free round of golf for each timeout he keeps in his pocket. He has to lead the country in timeouts not used. Holtz didn't use a single timeout in the first half against Rice. Holtz's timeout management has been horrible all season, especially in the Kansas and Army games before halftime. We went into halftime both games having to kick field goals with timeouts left in Holtz's pocket when we would have had a shot at a touchdown in both of those games if had he used his timeouts.
