USM has out rebounded Tech BADLY today.
Our lack of post-center players with size, strength & speed is very noticeable today!

USM is simply a much better fundamental basketball team than Tech is...Tech relies too much on gimmicks...3-point shooting, Kyser's shot-blocking, and relying on forcing turnovers. Against good teams you usually won't get even two of the three of those to work, and Tech almost must have at least two of those three to win.
This is a nice one sided game on the foul calls. Southern Miss only has 6 team fouls this half with less than two minutes? Yeah. Seems legit.
And where did our rebounding go?

Not having Appleby hurt, but I'm not sure it would have changed the outcome...closer game yes, but that would not have slowed down USM.
Better than the NIT game but we still got "out-physicaled."
It definitely felt like the calls were one-sided this game, but it was embarrassing to watch our big men get pushed around like that today. Southern Miss bodied up on us, and we simply didn't match their aggressiveness. Props to Southern Miss for playing tough, double-teaming us and forcing turnovers, and driving in the lane and getting fouled. Quite simply, they went to the free throw line and took care of business.
Southern deserved that win today. Congratulations Eagles!
I agree, but they were in the bonus for fouls that had hardly anything to do with shooting down low.
