Thanks. I was actually leaning towards the EOTech + magnifier. I was looking at the xps because of the center cowitness instead of bottom third with the exps. Thoughts? Forgot the difference between the 2-0 and the 3-0, but I was originally looking at the 2-0 for some reason.
Saw a great looking ruger 10-22 with a beautiful wood grain stock and bull barrel.....it was very nice...damn near bought it on the spot
As far as cowitness is concerned, it's mostly a matter of preference. I'd say 1/3 cowitness is probably more popular just based on what I read on the forums (I frequent AR15.com quite a bit).
Biggest difference between the 2 sights: the XPS 2.0's control buttons are on the rear, while the EXPS 3.0's are on the side (making much easier to use with a magnifier). The difference between 2.0 and 3.0 is that 3.0 is night vision compatible. You've already covered the difference in cowitness.
Edit: The EXPS also offers quick detach mounting. The XPS does not.
Bought an 18" 6.8 barrel and Superbolt from AR15Performance yesterday! Ready to get this build going!![]()

I wish i had checked this thread earlier. I have owned a alexander arms 6.5 grendel for 2 1/2 years and i absolutely love it.
I would love to have a 6.5 Grendel, and I'm sure I will one of these days. I find the ability to consistently shoot 1000 yard targets out of the AR15 platform incredibly intriguing. Based on what I'm using this build for and along with the factory ammo I can find up here, 6.8 just makes better sense right now. The ballistics of the two out to about 500 yards is very comparable.
Rabid, how is factory ammo availability down there, or do you typically shoot your own loads? Have any pics of your rig?![]()

I have bought 4 boxes of 123 hornady sst at academy but it hasnt been restocked as of sunday.
I am working up loads for 100 gr nosler bt. Im getting close to being satisfied with those. At the time of purchase the nosler was all that was in stock at midway.
No pics, itz just a std Alex arms 16" with adj stock. Weighs just under 8# with a 3-9x50 ziess conquest.
Iv killed deer out to 256 and coyote out to 364. Best part is, recoil is so light i actually see the animal drop thru the scope. Never did that with my short mag.
Sounds like some really good results. Just makes me more anxious to get this thing finished! What weight buffer are you using?
All I've ever seen up here in Grendel is the Hornady SST, and they hardly ever have more than a few boxes in stock. Academy usually has 2-3 different types of 6.8 rounds in stock whenever I check.
As far as my build goes, I'm just going to focus on the upper for now since I can just swap it onto my 5.56 lower. I'm thinking about going with a Vltor or Spikes upper and a 15" keymod rail from 556 Tactical. Haven't decided on a brake/flash hider yet.

I have never built an ar. Never changed/added anything on one except a giessele trigger $ well spent. The buffer is what came in it from AA.
If you ever decide to get another rifle in the AR platform, I highly suggest building it yourself. It's pretty simple to do with all of the guides you can find online, and it's a great way to learn about your gun. Helps tremendously when you have a problem to troubleshoot. Definitely very rewarding.
What model Geissele do you have? I'm currently using a RRA 2-stage match trigger. I really like it, but with so many great reviews on the Geisseles, I feel somewhat obligated to try one![]()

Pretty dure it is the "national match". Its an adjustable two stage and it is on a colt hbar. The colt came with the worst trigger i have ever had. The AA has a single stage that is not too bad.

Anyone get one of the Sig P320s? Not really in the market for one but they look like a cool design.
Also, anyone bought any MSR components from PROF-USA? Their roller cam pin bolts look intriguing.
I wish I had an MSR to buy parts for
Sig does look pretty cool though. Buddy of mine picked up a work of art yesterday... FNX 45 in FDE with the threaded barrel. Absolutely beautiful gun.
