I worry now about the 2015 recruits. How can MW sell himself and Tech when those recruits and their families see what happened over the weekend. IMO, that's one reason why there needs to be a public statement -- to be a bit reassuring towards those HS juniors who are watching this.

They KNOW how college basketball works, and this is one of the things we have to deal with when we are successful

One thing he does in the recruiting process is sell this young men on TECH and what TECH can do for them and they need to make sure this is a place they can be happy getting a degree when its not basketball season

It's like a great JR football player who would go in the first round, but decided to play his SR year of college ball. He turned down millions, so you hope he doesn't get hurt and everything works out well for him. Even if he's not a Tech player, you don't want to see that happen to anyone from a human perspective.

Mike White is the first Tech coach in my lifetime that turned down millions to stay at Tech. I wish him well in his future!

I think whoever Mike White is interested in coaching knows his intentions, and he probably knows there's. He has actually turned down two million dollar plus jobs to stay at least another year at TECH...maybe we can do enough next year such as attendance, support, other items mentioned to keep him here even longer...just glad to have him one more year...hopefully.

I don't know how old you are, but don't forget about Leon Barmore. He turned down big money from bigger colleges and the WNBA. I know it's a different sport, but Leon's loyalty is rare for any school.

Not really...... He could have gone to a much more compact conference. He stayed thru three conferences and being indy. He was a hometown Ruston man that loves the area and the school. That makes a difference. Having roots here is what kept him here.
