LaTech ENR Considering Article on SEZ Project

ENR (Engineering News Record) is doing a piece on college football facilities and they need to know that Louisiana Tech's project should be included. Everyone get out as many emails as possible as soon as possible to Joan Callahan joan.callahan@mhfi.com and let her know how much thier readers, including thousands of Tech Alumni and hundreds of Louisiana Tech Engineering and Construction graduates, would like to see an article about the South End Zone Project appear in ENR.

They planned to include these projects, but not ours:

    Baylor McLane Football Stadium
    A&M’s Kyle Field Football Stadium
    LSU Tiger Football Stadium
University of Houston Robertson Football Stadium
    Tulane Yulman Football Stadium

One of these engineering schools is not like the others.

Your thread title suggests that ENR is already considering us as a topic?

louise.poirier@mhfi.com is another person with control over content. Please send as many emails to this person as well. The majority of the readers of ENR are Civil Engineers and Construction Professionals, and this is an area where Louisiana Tech does carry considerable weight, so please let them hear from all of us in a big way.

That's right. And my intent was to suggest that we encourage ENR to publish a piece about our project.

We were not included in the original list of college stadium projects (and I assume not considered), so I communicated that I and many of not all Tech grads would not be interested in their publication if it didn't include Louisiana Tech's project. Then I received the following response with two specific questions - answers to which constitute the beginnings of the information required to write an article - which I consider demonstrates their consideration, to which I feel we need to encourage:

I’m sorry we missed that one. Can you tell me if it is currently under construction? And if so when is the expected date of completion?

    Thanks.

    I then received this email:

Thank you ******. I will pass this information on to our editor. If there are other projects or events you think we should know about please share. For your records, our editor is Louise Poirier and her email is louise.poirier@mhfi.com
