We didn't play toe to toe at any point. We played better as the game went on. I do think Sokol will continue to get better and better. The shout out.... That was silly.

If there is one thing Skippy is a master at, it's spinning a loss.........
The thing I liked most about Sokol is he was not scared. He's not a terrific QB or at least wasnt tonight, but he knew the hits were coming and didn't get scared to throw. Got a few good completions like that.
He'll have plenty of opportunities to do so as long as he's coaching.

So y'all are going on record that OU is not great? They looked great to me, but maybe we just suck. We'll see. I didn't see a weakness that we could exploit though.
Anyone who watched and understood the movie "Moneyball" and took a few math classes would probably agree that a college football team that can't score 30 points is probably not going to win a whole lot of games, and we still can't seem to score 30 points.
I went over this by the numbers last year at some point. If you don't score 30, you're probably going to lose regardless of who you're playing.
I give credit to OU as a very good team, nevertheless we do not have the team we should have, and I don't believe it is due to a lack of player ability.
We are usually held under 20 points when we play Top 5 teams though. I really don't think last year's team could have scored 16 on Oklahoma.
We couldn't score 16 against Kansas, Tulane, NC State, North Texas, Rice, Tulsa, and UTSA last year so that's not really saying much. Last year's offense was the worst offense I've ever seen. This year our scheme and talent will improve us to mediocrity (which is actually a huge improvement).
Sokol looked at least as good as Ross Jenkins ever looked in similar circumstances. Compared to last year, that type of QB presence is a HUGE upgrade!!
My god man, stop sucking the teet of Skip Holtz! He was never good with us and is showing NO signs if getting better! You're going to be one of those guys 2 years after he is fired when his mess is still being cleaned up saying "oh man, we should have given him one more year, he was just getting it going". Yes OU is a top 5 team and it was rough no matter what but there was NOTHING positive or different about this game.
