    Moving along...

While thrashing the Lafayette ULX is nice, especially in front of OUR recruits they so graciously invited, it is over. We were more talented, better coached, and even out cheered them. Winning against a Sun Belch opponent no matter how talented is to be expected.

The real season starts Thursday, it's game week boys. C-USA time boys. The Dawgs are 1-1 with a game in one of Techs recruiting hot beds coming up. Get em geared up Holtz, no reason Tech cant come out from the opening gun and play like they did the last 50 minutes in Laughiyet.

As good as the team played we still cane out slow, the first 10 minutes left much to be desired. We still missed tackles, we still had communication breakdowns on the Offensive line, these have to be corrected. We played 30 minutes of bulldog football the first game, and 50 minutes last night. I want to see it click all 60 Thursday.

Bring on North Texas, let's get above .500 and 1-0 in conference.

That was a BIG win for this program. Don't try to belittle it, we NEEDED it with this early schedule, and we were big underdogs going in. But the most important thing about it is that we go to UNT with some confidence. We haven't had that for a while! We do still have a lot of work to do and UNT is going to be another tough one. We need to play with same intensity every week and cut out the mental mistakes and improve as the season goes on. UNT is a bigger game than ULL was. Let's all get focused.

We needed this win, but the Cajuns are old news now (thankfully).

Looking ahead, I think LA Tech has a VERY good chance to beat UNT on their home turf Thursday night. Yes, UNT's defense is outstanding. But UNT lost 38-7 last week to a bad Texas team that got pasted by BYU yesterday in Austin, 41-7. So, UNT lost to a very bad Texas team. Yes, UNT dominated SMU 43-6 yesterday....but frankly, I'm not sure SMU will score another TD all year. SMU is a really baaaad football team. Yet, UNT only racked up 353 yards of total offense, including only 108 yards of passing. Can you say "Stack the LOS"??

Obviously UNT is not responsible for the poor performances of their opponents. But I also think it's fair to say the MeanGreen hasn't played anyone as good or well-rounded at all facets of the game as the DAWG's yet.

They are struggling with their offense, but a good defense always keeps a team in the game. I see this one being very low-scoring and fewest mistakes wins.

That was my point, it was big for morale and confidence, but in the grand scheme it was a win against a sbc foe. The biggest game and only one that matters to this point is North Texas. We won a game in south La those recruits will notice, now we go to another area we recruit hard, time to serve notice to those recruits. We have a nationally telivised conference game coming up and the chance to be over .500 for the first time time since the 2012 season. Cajuns got what was coming turn the page and beat the greenies.

    Re: Moving along...

I give Texas a little more credit than some for the North Texas win because of the Texas QB situation. David Ash played the entire game against North Texas, but he didn't get to play at all against BYU because of concussion symptoms believed to have been aggravated on a hit midway through the 4th quarter that gave the Mean Green its only score of the game on a fumble recovery for a TD. BYU played against a completely different Texas offense.

The halftime score last night was 6-0 BYU with Texas missing a 43 yard FGA on its only 1st half scoring threat. The early 3rd quarter drive chart looks like Tech last year with an inexperienced QB as the score went from 6-0 to 34-0 BYU in 10:27 of game time.

BYU received 2nd half kickoff...TD drive
    Texas 3-and-out
    BYU TD drive
    Texas 3-and-out
    BYU TD drive
    Texas fumbled on the kickoff
    BYU TD drive

Good point about David Ash. I forgot about that. You're right. UNT played against a different Texas offense than what BYU saw yesterday.

. What I liked about first 10 minutes was Dietz bend but don't break and Holtz going for it on fourth down at mid field- so much for over conservative. They go 3 out. Punt . We get ball and Dixon goes 99 yards. Sitting 1 row behind Dixon was pretty special

Many people said the game had passed Mack Brown by, based on the pasting BYU put on UT. Are they saying that about Strong too?

I don't know about anyone else, but a "Caption Thread" and a "Look Alike Thread" would do wonders for helping me get focused on UNT.
