One of my renters, an older college student who is on SS, yes he receives benefits although he has hardly held a job in his life, was complaining and worrying his SS will be cut after the Repubs take control of Congress in January. BTW, his parents pay his rent for him...he's 38.
People that are "ignorant" are a constant topic in the drivel that you post. If you really believe this, you should be on the forefront against any wingnut politician that is against increased funding for education or for cutting fund that currently exist (hello...Bobby Jindal and others).
I'm not a Bobby Jindal fan - he talks too fast for me to really trust him. But, he is constrained constitutionally as to where cuts can be made, if my understanding is correct.
Why? The education system is what is making them ignorant/stupid. Anything that destroys education's current form is a good thing.

We've already had this education discussion before, so I will be obtuse: everything. Base two things: content and delivery.
I think y'all have intentionally skipped that it is not Tech that is broken specifically, the whole education system is. Tech just happens to be a part of it and when education changes, Tech will need to change.
