I think it's inevitable that game will be held at Marshall, but a look at the performance against common opponents is interesting. If we add up the winning (and subtract the losing) point differences , it's a virtual tie. Marshall is at +119, Tech is +118. But what should be a huge factor probably won't be considered. We crushed W Kentucky, the only team to beat Marshall, 59-10. We also hammered UAB, a team Marshall struggled with until the end for a 5 pt win. In a rational world the obvious choice would be Ruston.

I wonder if Auburn would have pulled out the win vs. Bama tonight how close we would be.

I wanted this game at Tech for obvious reasons, but for our guys, I don't think it matters. We have done just as well - if not better on the road this year (take away Rice). We will take down Marshall in grand style!

    Re: Who hosts?

Both Tech and Marshall have both been making preliminary plans to host, including being responsible for finding hotel rooms for the visiting team.
Waiting until Sunday afternoon appears to me to be pushing the envelope on being fair to the home team (and the visitors).

Perhaps thinking of it in this way will help - the news media routinely "calls" elections long before the polls close. So, even though the computer ratings have not be released, Marshall is projected to be the host of the championship game. It is highly unlikely that will change, but....

Yeah...CUSA would never want to have this game hosted in a warm, 72-degree, sunshine climate. Obviously its much better to play in a "coal mining town", in the cold, frigid rain, with possible ice and snow. Who doesn't want to travel to THAT?

This is why tying up a neutral site is better.

True, lots of good choices such as Nashville, N.O., or Dallas. Others I am sure.

    Exactly.

We can't complain about not hosting the championship game. We had our shot.

Let's just win it on the road.

    Re: Who hosts?

Maybe they'll get a blizzard this week, and the NCAA will opt to move the game to a neutral site, like the NFL did for the Bills-Jets game. Somewhere in-between....maybe Birmingham. Give UAB fans (all 500 of 'em) a chance to witness a CUSA championship game in person.

Ok, so they beat ODU 56-14, we beat WKU 55-10. I don't put much faith in comparative scores.
