I was told to purchase tickets on the website and they would determine where the seats are based on LTAC preference. They said that as long as you purchased tickets early you were pretty much guaranteed to get a good seat.
So why did you do THIS? You don't think the school needs the ticket sales? You don't think this is important to LA Tech?
Ticket alottment is the name of the game in the Bowl world. We buy tickets from anyone else but Tech and they don't get credit. We will get an entire side of a 70k stadium so getting a bad seat was highly unlikely.
Well I guess I chose unwisely and should feel bad about myself.

Can someone explain to me how the whole ticket allotment process works? I know each school is given X number of tickets to sell. Do the schools get a cut/commission off of each ticket they sell? What happens if they don't sell all of the tickets? Just looking at the seating chart, it looks like they don't plan to sell 1000s of seats (if that is what gray means), or the seats are going to the schools to sell (rather unlikely I'd say). The sooner Tech can let people know where the Tech seats are going to be, the better I think sales will be if the seats are indeed good seats.
I'm all for supporting Tech, but if I'm going to a game, I want good seats. There are many other ways that I can support Tech financially. If good seats are available through Tech, then by all means, folks should order tickets through Tech.

If you buy a 75 dollar seat from Tech you are gonna get a good seat. The allotment is a simple form of gauging purchasing power for a school. Say we surpass our allotment and request more we are pretty much in the drivers seat everytime that certain bowl becomes available. If the alottment is under sold said bowl is gonna put us on their naughty list and explore other options before calling us back. If we go out there and buy a huge amount of tickets and also actually fill the stadium, it's a huge feather in our cap. Attendance is huge.
I decided to see what would happen if I checked availability by clicking on the link on Tech's website. It shows tickets are available in sections 1, 2, 35, and 36. Assuming the seating chart on HOD Bowl's website is correct, that is over on the Big Ten side of the field. Say what? That's messed up.
Louisiana Tech is going all out for the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Tommy Mc invited the full Band of Pride, Regal Blues, and cheerleaders to Dallas.
