The parish building checklist for commercial structures does not mention the parish engineer needing to sign off, but if there is a concern I'm sure they would ask for his guidance.

From what I understand the state and parish engineers try to work together and the area we are now discussing has a lot of "issues" that were considered before permits were let.
Just drove down that way and they still have the State Police sitting in the road with lights flashing...what a cluster!
Agreed. People get to do whatever they want unless there's a role against it.
What burns my bottom is when there IS a rule against something, but every development gets an exception / waiver / variance just for asking pretty please.

Turns out the new hotel on the service road will be a courtyard Marriott, not a Hilton Garden Inn.
Can't have a Fairfield without a Courtyard nearby.
Yes. Original plans had two hotels. But that was previous owners. Not sure what the plan is now, other than the courtyard, undisclosed restaurants, and the anytime fitness building. I have heard recently about strip mall type buildings for shopping.
