USA Today, he doesn't start his Countdown until end of April, and Tech shouldn't come up till July.

We should be favored in every game except Kstate and Miss St. this season. I predict we win one of those and lose a bonehead game like North Texas but still win the West.

It would be fun to beat KSU (and I think we've got a good shot) but I think an upset in Starkville is not only slightly possible but would rocket our draft price if a big bowl comes calling.

The MSU game should be fun to watch with Holtz and Diaz practicing for a year against each other. That MSU offense can get really scary if they hit on all cylinders. I hope we can do the same.

I think we matchup well against K-State, but our history is not kind to us in the series. They used to use us a punching bag back in the day. We will slip up and lose a stupid one some were along the way, that just something we have always done. I feel that 9-10 wins is the expectation if Driskel and the D-line stay healthy.

Our history with Kansas State is not long. As far as I remember we are 1-2 against them. Beat them back in the 80s and they beat us the last two time -- in 2000 and 2001. I still remember one of the games Scobee was kicking off to Scobee. Also our Scobee nailed a touch back on a free kick (after a safety) from our own 20. Haven't seen that kind of kicking in a long time.

Those games in the early 2000's seemed like we were destroyed in.

Yes, they did. The earlier post made it seemed that they had been doing it for years on end when in reality it was only two years. I believe it will be closer this year.

    Wasn't our 31-28 WIN in 1988 at KSTATE a huge come-from-behind victory?

I was at a Northwestern game in Natchitoches that day and remember the announcer giving the scores. After the game an NSU fan said "what a great day, we won and Tech lost." A buddy I was with said, "that's how we feel down here." That was the first year the series with NSU in Shreveport had been dropped.

TECH came back from a 28-7 halftime deficit to WIN this one at K State: Here's brief (dated) info from the Tech athletics website:

"The Bulldogs won ... with a 31-28 victory in 1988, Louisiana Tech's last year as a I-AA football program. The Bulldogs rallied from a 28-7 halftime deficit to score 24 unanswered second half points to secure the victory. Conroy Hines led the Bulldogs, passing 24-for-48 for 357 yards and two touchdowns. Hines, who played from 1986-88 at Louisiana Tech, set a career-high with the 357-yard game. Lifford Jackson paced the Bulldog receivers with 17 receptions for 251 yards. The 17 catches still stands as the second highest single game total in Louisiana Tech history. The 251-yard performance is also the fourth highest single game total in the Bulldog record books. Current NFL kicker Matt Stover, of the Baltimore Ravens, kicked the game-winning field goal with 2:49 remaining in the contest. Kansas State quarterback, Paul Watston went 18-for-42 for 362 yards and four touchdowns. KSU's Greg Washington and David Brooks had 145 and 138 receiving yards respectively."

K State, for whatever reason, had handed out oranges. I guess they thought they had a chance at the orange bowl. Anyway, the fans were pelting the Tech sideline with oranges and soon thereafter the Beach Boys who played a post game concert on the field.

    Never hand out oranges.
