    LaTech 2015-2016 Starting 5

    1- Alex
    2- Dayon
    3- Jacobi
    4- Erik
    5- Joniah

I think by conference play that Derric will be starting at the 1 and Alex will be the 2, with Jacobi and Dayon sharing time in a 2/3 rotation to spell each other and Alex. I look for Erik to explode next year along with Joniah, both had flashes that were extremely promising, with Merril spelling them.

There is obviously still a long way to go before the season tips, but I'd rather focus on Bulldogs rather than others.

My vote is Holden over Joniah. Better defender, and doesnt foul as much. With X leaving, Jacobi just became an extremely key player. We need him to be a lights out shooter. Dayon is going to have to step up as well. The season still sets up to be very good.

Yeah, I don't think that will be our starting 5.

Me either, my point in this thread was to change the narrative on this board, and to highlight the players who want to be a part of this program.

Who would your starting 5 be rhythm?

    I think it will be:
    Alex
    Jacobi
    Erik
    Robinson or Qidar
    Holden

I hope Robinson can come in and push for PT. I gave Dayon the edge on my 5 due to his shooting ability. 50% from the field as a true freshman cannot be understated. Holden or White... I want a 7 footer down low, he was timid last year, but he could be a force if he can become more physical down low.

There's not much beef on the roster so far. http://www.latechsports.com/sports/m...askbl-mtt.html

I'm still excited about the potential of Branden Shepperd. At 6'7 and 225 he has size needed to be the inside presence both offensively and defensively. After watching him play in Shreveport and and in and the high school state playoffs 2 years ago, he should be a factor next season.

Nobody on our roster has a frame like B--he is built very similar to Millsap. Now if he can play/practice/prepare with a hungry mindset, he will be a force!
    Have you considered those Dogs?

I think Quidar is the wild card in the mix

IF he can play like he did in the tourney and NIT, he could be the 5th starter or the MAN off the bench

Totally agree with this. Saw Qidar do some fantastic things down the stretch. It's like it finally clicked. Similar to what I saw in Chris Anderson's light bulb moment. It's why I was so confused when people were suggesting he should transfer or might be replaced. I think Qidar will be huge for us this year and may earn his way into a starting role. Post #5 I called it first!

I agree. One of the all-time best advertisements in TV history. I met her one time....in Pittsburgh, PA. Her name was Clara Peller, and she was coming thru my hotel lobby with her entourage. I asked her to belt one out....and she did. It was hilarious. Tiny women, with a BIG voice. HAHA!
