Heard the same rumor about 7 home games in 2017.
If we cannot find anybody besides FCS to come to Ruston we should start scheduling some neutral site games within our region with better programs. This will draw more tv interest. How about Boise St or TCU @ the Cotton Bowl? Illinois in Chicago & then Shreveport or Arkansas in Little Rock & then Shreveport? There are better ways to schedule than what we are doing.
Better get as much $$$$ in guarantees as feasibly possible...
Things are fixing to get even tougher on the home front with the price per barrel of oil expecting to dip to the low $30's....
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
We could play in our new Dallas home then. Anybody think we wouldn't bring 20,000 to Dallas vs Ark? Better publicity game, better stadium & allows our Texas Alumni a shorter road trip while they can bring more fans, family & friends. All of this equals more exposure for us. UA stadium only holds a paltry 72,000. The Cotton Bowl Stadium holds 92,100 in a more influential media market where both schools recruit heavily. It's a win-win for both programs.
I went to one of those. I remember. But since that series ended, they've played like 4 true road games and a series with A&M that started out as an OOC series in Arlington.
I think, off the top of my head as a non-razorback fan they played USC, Rutgers, and UT.
They ain't playing us in Shreveport (or Dallas, when they can play in Arlington every year).
I think that of any place you could get the Razorbacks to travel for a game away from Arkansas would be 'Jerry World' (never in the Cotton Bowl with him having a venue 15 miles away)!!!! I bet if we got Bradshaw to call JJ, they could cut that deal! We could bring at least 20k+ and the Pigs could/should bring 60k+ or so pulling from DFW & Houston areas!!!!! That would be enough to turn their heads, I reckon! We already played a home game in DFW, why not try it again with the HOGS????
