We, as a family, will be getting our nap time on at this time next week! Then it's on to JAS for a little tailgating and gametime!

During Game Day between 3:00PM and 5:00PM we usually go into the TAC, get cool and take a nap until they open the gates to the stadium at 5:00PM.

#5 pro athletes to supplement our BULLDOG PROFILES ABOVE:
    • #5 Joe DiMaggio: New York Yankees' Joe was a 13 time All-Star, a 9 time World Series champion and his record of 56 consecutive games with a hit still stands. Some say that his consecutive games with a hit record will be the most difficult record to ever be broken. Over a 13 year major league career he had:

      • .325 batting average
      • 389 doubles
      • 3 AL MVP awards (1939, 1941 and 1947)
      • 1,537 RBI
      • 361 home runs
      • What kitchen appliance did Joe DiMaggio promote on television?
    • #5 Paul Hornung: The Packers' Hornung, a superb athlete, excelled at more than one position in the NFL. Primarily a halfback, Hornung also played quarterback and kicker. In fact, as a placekicker, he made 12 field goals and 41 extra points in 1964.

Over nine NFL seasons, Hornung rushed for 3,711 yards and fifty touchdowns, threw for 383 yards and five touchdowns, and made 66 field goals and 190 extra points. He also caught 130 passes for 1,480 yards and 12 touchdowns.

You are either AWESOME in remembering/documenting former Bulldogs or have access to an incredible database. Whichever, we need to get together (PM's, email next season for another countdown from 100 to 0. What's the answer?

4 more days until kickoff. 105 hours as of 9:00 amTuesday.

#4 LOU GEHRIG: *Over his 17 season career, Gehrig hit 493 homers, 1,195 RBI, with a .340 career batting average. He was an AL MVP twice and finished second in the voting twice. He was in the top five vote getters for AL MVP eight times during his career.
*He was a seven time All-Star and a six time World Series Champion. His number 4 jersey is retired by the New York Yankees.

*Of course, Gehrig held the record for consecutive games played with 2,130 until Cal Ripken Jr. broke it in 1995.
*Gehrig's gracious and moving farewell speech, so well known and repeated, is available here: http://www.lougehrig.com/about/farewell.html

#4: This former NFL and CUSA member university quarterback passed for 71,838 NFL yards and 508 touchdowns: His last name now appears in the "Urban Dictionary" and is a verb used into describe sending a picture of his or her genitals to a fomer collegue, co worker, romantic pursuit, or random phone number. "She was ???-ed by her boss" would be it's use in a sentence.
Who is he, what verb bears (could we says 'bares') his last name and what CUSA school did he play for?

    3× First-team All-Pro (1995, 1996, 1997)
    3× Second-team All-Pro (2001, 2002, 2007)
    NFL MVP (1995, 1996, 1997)
    5× NFC Player of the Year (1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2007)
    NFL Passing TDs Leader (1995, 1996, 1997, 2003)
