    Karl Malone

I'm not sure whether this has been discussed on the board, but did anyone else see Karl's close-up at the LSU game in Syracuse yesterday? I'm not upset he was there; I would have been there alson if my son was playing, but did he have to wear his gold LSU shirt to cheer on the Tiggers?

Yes, a few brought it up in threads. It probably deserves its own thread. Need to list all of his Ruston business establishments.

For some reason, I have no problem with him wearing LSU colors to cheer for his son. If they believed LSU was the best place for him to go, that's cool with me. I am more irritated by LaTech grads who have no tie to LSU dressing all up in purple/gold on the same day when their alma mater is playing a home game. I don't understand that.
    Have you considered those Dogs?

Exactly. His son is playing. I have no problem with it. And I doubt anybody would have a problem with it if his son were playing for any other team. But since it's LSU, everybody got to get their panties in a wad. Considering what Karl has done for our Alma matter, I will give him 100% pass on this.

Karl is supporting his son and that comes before anything trivial like LA Tech's grudge against lsu. While I don't like seeing him in the purple and piss I am glad that he is supporting his son's decision to attend that university and play football for them.

I think it's a good thing that Karl's son didn't come to Tech. If he did not get the playing time Karl expected, it would further strain a tumultuous relationship.

I have great respect for what Malone has done for Louisiana Tech. My statement was not a jab. Just stating fact.

    Re: Karl Malone

Back when I was a student at Tech, and before I became turned off by LSU’s arrogance along with the arrogance of its fan with no ties to LSU, I used to say a good weekend was any weekend when Tech, LSU, and the Saints won. Now, being older and wiser, a good weekend is any weekend Tech and the Saints win.

I have no problem with a parent being proud of where his or her kid goes to school and supporting them. Maybe it’s a matter of “My son goes to LSU, but my money goes to Louisiana Tech” for Karl Malone.

When I came to Tech from out of state, I was shocked at the amount of purple and gold worn around campus. If that's still going on that is far more disturbing to me than Malone wearing it to a game that his son is playing in.

The TV announcers at least mentioned that Karl played for La Tech, good to get mentioned in a positive light during LSU game.
