Whoa, whoa whoa!! I take offense to this post, as a titty fan from way back I must inform that Gros Tête means big head, and has nothing to do with titties. I would guess that he resembles a large penis with ears, hence the nickname. No need to disparage titties.

I think Holtz brought up a good point this week: we caught teams by surprise last year. They didn't know who Cody Sokol was. They didn't know what Manny Diaz would do. Now they have watched film and learned how best to approach us. They are not challenging our DBs. They are throwing quick passes due to the blitz schemes. They know what they can take (underneath routes and quick outs and RBs in the flat). Everyone is playing conservative against our defense to prevent turnovers and QB pressures. We have a huge target on our back and every coach knows how talented we are and what we are capable of. It's not 2014 anymore.

I don't think it would have been smart to change things with the success we had last year. We definitely could have when Diaz left, but decided we liked that defense and promoted Baker. Baker said it's about 80% of what we did last year, but there are always some tweaks.

The 20% he changed is apparently the part where we blitz more and actually put our DBs on the receivers, instead of dropping them back at least 10 yards before the play starts...

Probably. I was just looking at our sacks and we don't have 1 sack by a LB this year and only 1 half-sack from a DB. I think some of that can be from the quicker passes we are seeing this year, but tackles-for-loss is also down a bit too (8.1 per game last year vs 6.25 per game this year).

Absolutely! Their QBs are horrible and turn the ball over when pressured. If we sit back in coverage and only rush 3 DL again (With Dora in coverage too) I may self-combust right there on the spot.

Blitz these guys from everywhere and we win this game easily.

Some of you people need to go out and run some 40 yard wind sprints .... This isn't Madden football. Real people actually need ENERGY to blitz every down. Strategically, you can t put your corners in man press every down ask ULL. That s why they were burned last week.
