Great game but a little disappointed in 9-4.

Tech took stAte to the wood shed which is the way these seniors should go out but I am alittle disappointed. This team could have been the best Tech team ever with so much talent. 3 of the 4 losses were winnable games but for some reason we imploded. Maybe my expectations were too high this year but when you have your best running back ever and the 2011 top HS Qb with great recievers and a couple of NFL guys on D, we could have done better. It a good year but it could have been great. If we played like NOLA we go undefeated or 13-1.

Thank you class of 2015 for the great memories and congrats on winning NOLA bowl.

We probably should have won one more game.... K State. We had some weaknesses, many brought about through injuries. Some of our weaknesses (special teams, for example) will continue IMO if we don't change things. Overall, I feel good about our team. I think we could have hit 10 wins, though.

Top a certain extent, I agree. This team had 11 wins in 'em this year, but came away with 9. This team should have beaten KSU (lost in OT) and USM (lost in the locker room). But you could also argue that this team could/should have lost at UTSA and UTEP. We were lucky to escape both with a win.

2016 will be a very telling year about our program, as it will be the first year made up totally of Skip Holtz recruits. And as far as I know, the QB position is still a mystery for next season. And as I've always said, "college football is all about the QB".

This senior class finished with 31 wins in their career. That's not bad, but before you go all google-eyed crazy, think on this:

the 2015 senior class at Boise State is their 14th consecutive class to win at least 40 games in their career.

So, let's not lose sight of the goal, and the goal is NOT sitting at 8-win seasons.

Re: Great game but a little disappointed in 9-4.

The 4 losses were credible losses. We lost on the road to the 2 P5 teams (one in 3 OTs and the other a blowout, but we weren't physically overmatched), and we lost to the 2 divisional champions (one was close and the other was close until we imploded). We had 2 WTF games though (UTSA and UTEP), but were able to win them this year.

The defense took a step back this year. I'm not sure if that was because of losing Diaz, or becuase of losing Pinson, Johnson, Villemez and Bates (or both). Or because teams adjusted to what we were doing in 2014. We didn't get the pressure on the QB like we did last year and didn't see the turnovers again, but Manny did say that was kind of a fluky deal and he wasn't expecting to ever see that again.

The offense improved. The OL got a little better but still not there yet. I think we are trying to build a physical run-blocking line and I can't wait to get that. It's been too long. Driskel added a little bit more of a running threat than Sokol. The stats will show this ended up being a Top 20 offense.

The kickers and punters had tremendous improvement. But the coverage was consistently bad all year long. And we didn't really do very well returning kicks and punts.

I'm not disappointed at all. It was a very succesful year. Disappointment is 2013 when you think the world is ending and we'll never be good ever again. I would have told you you were nuts if you told me we would win 9 games and a bowl in 2014 and 2015!!

Hard to complain about 9 wins. But our goal should always be to win a conference championship. That did not happen this season so there were unachieved goals. We had enough talent on offense to win the championship. It all came down to USM and we failed miserably that game. Did not even get the division title. But, failing right at the end is something that happens when you are going for championships.

As a fan, I will be happy as long as we are truly competitive, which we were. Not like fake competitive where we sneak into third at the end with no real shot, but truly competitive. This was an opportunity for a championship and we didn't get it, but I enjoyed the season.

Most disappointing thing about the season to me? Weather for the last three games. Best part about the season: great offense, 9 wins, and putting the Sun Belt in its place on two occasions.

You guys are missing my point. This year could or should have been historic. 9 wins is nice but this team had so much more potential. I am still proud of this team and will miss all of them. I am actually really excited to see who the Qb is in spring. Only 9 more months until 2016 kicks off.

    It's a cliche, but I'm a believer, "Defense wins championships." In our 4 losses we gave up 39, 41, 45, and 58 points. In our 9 wins we gave up 15, 17, 14, 31, 16, 17, 13, 15, and 28. That being said, WKU's defense isn't all that.

Good info, but PLEASE go back and remove scores from the totals showing to have been given up by defense that were given up by Holtz' HORRIBLE special teams. Ex: that 28 should be 20. You also might consider dropping it even further due to the silly time out call.

Just off memory. WKU had a kickoff return for a TD. I think Kansas State returned a punt for a TD? Mississippi State blocked a punt to the 1 or 2 yard line and had a 80 yard pick 6. Southern Miss had 21 points off turnovers on our side of the field and another 7 with a turnover at midfield. They also recovered on onside kick on special teams. That's not championship football. I don't remember many special teams blunders and turnovers in the 9 wins. Maybe just the Arkansas State kickoff return... and a long punt return?

As you have pointed out, our kick coverage and put coverage was bad all year (always has been). Our punter did better in the 2nd half of the season. Kick returns are just awful. We also need different personnel on punt returns. Way too many fumbles there.

I wonder if we could get a GA for special teams? We have 2 for offense and 2 for defense... I also wonder if it would help if we had a designated coach who only coached special teams and not defensive backs? Something needs to change...we need to seriously evaluate what improvements can be made to special teams. They were terrible for the last 2 years...

Just remembered that Southern returned a kickoff for a TD too. And we roughed the punter at Miss State when we were still in it and would have gotten good field position, instead they drove down to put the game out of reach.

All coaching staffs analyze the year after the season and look for ways to improve. I would imagine the kick coverage and return teams will be an area of study and hopefully improvements
