Also, what are the odds that 8 non-cartel schools would be in the same NIT bracket? I still find that suspicious.
I believe the conspiracy about the NIT brackets, but we have to keep in mind the difference between the NCAA selection committee and the NIT selection committee. There's no way the NCAA committee would be able to get away grouping teams like the NIT committee did because they are under so much more scrutiny. Nobody but guys like us noticed how the NIT grouped their brackets.

Top 75 coming to Ruston for 1 game? You are making up stuff just like TT.

You think FGCU was a good game? In terms of resume, they represent a meaningless win over what is expected to be a 200+ RPI team.

Sorry bud but I believe our past coaches like Mike White on this one. You've heard him say it and I've heard him state it. Top teams and conferences will not go home and home with us in Ruston. I hope Coach Konk has better results with scheduling of course but the facts are just the facts.

Best way is to cut a money game???

I think we need more money games. More money games means more opportunities for money wins for our at-large resume, more money to buy home wins, more TV games against teams our fans can get exciting about watching, and more potential for a meaningful win to ignite our fanbase.

Talking in terms of scheduling more home games..they make money but use a date...plus everyone schedules 3 or 4 sure home wins

Our home record over the last few years is conspicuous, we have to provide some hefty incentive for good teams to play us in Ruston. I mean, would you want to play Tech in Ruston? That said, we got wins at home over probably the Sunbelt (UTA) and SWAC (Southern) champions. The Southland is down with SFA being down. We'll see how Gulf Coast fares in the Atlantic Sun. Big 12 ain't coming to Ruston. SEC ain't coming to Ruston. We might be able to swing a low tier AAC team with the right money. It would be cool if we could've signed a basketball contract with UMASS when we agreed to play them in football. Maybe that's where we could have a little leverage?

Who is saying we should get the SEC and Big 12 in Ruston?

I would love it, but I'm not exactly saying we should get good teams to play us in Ruston. I'm not asking us to take our schedules from sinking in quicksand all the way to sprinting in one season. Our OOC scheduling is the bottom of the barrel, the worst in C-USA. Our program is so much better than these awful schedules.

The point is we can schedule a lot better than we have been. It's really frustrating because our recent teams have been capable of earning a ticket to the Big Dance, but our coaches haven't given our guys an opportunity to earn an NCAA at-large bid with the sad schedules they've put together...and this window of opportunity won't stay open forever. We won't be able to take our program to the next level until we take our scheduling up a notch. Even though we aren't off to a good start for next season, my hope is Konkol will make improvements to our schedule.

And yes, the UMass AD made a fool of McClelland.

Our recent teams LOST important OOC games (Temple, Syracuse, St.Mary's, etc.,...) they needed to win to secure an at large. Who's to say we wouldn't lose other games on the road to tournament caliber teams? Now, we didn't have to go and play the most suck@$$ teams in the country like Mike decided to do. That didn't help.

Coach White's OOC schedules asked our guys to be almost perfect on the road to earn an NCAA at-large bid. That was never going to happen with no margin for error under those circumstances. Our guys had no chance.

Coach White's OOC schedules put Tech on the same level as SWAC and Southland jucos, and that should be unacceptable to all Tech faithful. The good news is it appears Konkol won't stoop to those lows.

Middle Tennessee is playing now at UAB on American Sports Network. It's on CST on my tv. Currently 32-26 Middle with 3:30 to play in the first half. UAB was the preseason favorite.

UAB was down by 12 at the half but came back to win by 11. Next game on same network is another C-USA game - North Texas at UTEP.
