Home Opener against South Carolina State

We paid Southern $350K last year. Not sure how much we netted.

We paid NSU $150K in 2014. We probably did okay on that one not counting the fire works cost.

$325K for a scrimmage to open 2016 and our only OOC home game.

Fail by our AD.

Why in the world are we paying South Carolina State $325K to come to Ruston? I could understand it if they were bringing a huge crowd to JAS like Southern did, but that's not going to happen. These guys are nobody. I'm not excited about this game AT ALL!

That can't be right. I'm sure some people on here will tell us this SC State game was the evil work of Bruce Van De Velde.

One of the admins gofers has already posted on this site confirming the embarrassing amount our AD agreed to. He justified it by saying we were getting enough money from the Arkansas game the week prior (a BVDV deal) to offset the bad deal made by our currentl AD.

Can't make this crap up.

This game will be a financial loss but the previous week matchup against Arkansas will more than cover it leaving a healthy overall gain. Need to look at the overall picture.

It's not meant to be a cover.

Many of the employees in the Athletic Dept are young guns for hire ... mercenaries seeking to advance their careers in collegiate athletics. They maintain allegiance to their own alma mater, and will be on their way as soon as the next offer comes.

(With some notable exceptions, of course.)
