What cost are we willing to assume to send illegals home? Trump's wall will cost about $20 billion (his estimate of $12 billion is only for materials), and maintenance will cost that same amount every 5 years or so. The estimated cost of mass deportation ranges from $100 billion to $400 billion, over 5-20 years.
If you give non-criminal illegals a legal option, that includes fines and no path to citizenship, what's the problem? Those individuals will now be taxpayers and will continue to contribute to economic growth. Why do you think it would turn the US into a 3rd world situation in 20 years?
