If Higgins cant get it done then it's next man up. Perhaps there is a Luke McCown waiting in the wings.

Three receivers, a safety, and a lineman, but no QB on the "single game" promo posters. HMMMMMMMM
I hope Higgins smokes up the conference!!!!
If you are correct and Holtz starts a qb who hasn't won the job by his performance, then he needs to get into another profession.
If Higgins and Wilson's performances are about the same, then starting a guy with some experience is probably better than starting one with none.
I certainly agree that a few early losses and poor performance by a senior qb will result in a new qb, even if the underclassman qb hasn't exactly been a star. I hope Higgins has a great year and we only see Wilson (or whoever is the backup) in mop up duty.
I agree that players are not the same at 18 as they are at 22. I think what I was trying to say, and did a poor job, is even if Ryan has progressed, Skip has not had the confidence in him. I am basing my opinion on what we have seen and Skip's actions. Skip going outside the program two years in a row shows us that Ryan was not the guy.
Last year at the Southern game sealed the deal for me. Maybe I am being unfair, but Ryan throwing picks on back to back drives/plays made me wonder what the score would have been if Ryan was the starter. He had absolutely no pressure. We were up 40 at half. Again, I hope I am wrong. Also, no having a QB on any promotions is pretty telling as well.
Maybe Skip wanted to provide competition for Ryan the past two years and went out and got the best available players. I don't think Price as a TR Freshmen and RS Freshmen would have provided him with much competition. Players competing against others make them better. Just handing him the job would have been a disservice to Ryan as a player, and the team as a whole. Creating competition is what brings the best out in players. Ryan was playing very well last year in camp until he hurt his arm. Not saying he won the job, but many say he was right on par with Driskel. Will Ryan lead us to 8-10 wins this year? I have no idea, but saying that Skip brought in two transfers shows no competition is just plain irrational thinking. Skip saw a void of older QBs in the QB room and brought in competition.
Isabella just wrote an article this morning about why Skip went for transfer QBs. Ryan was all we had outside of Wilson (a Freshman). We would have needed quality backups even if Ryan would have beat them out for the starting job. Said we now have Ryan (SR), Wilson (SO), Smith(RS Fr), and Abraham (Fr). Turned down transfers this year because we have QBs in the system to develop now.
That's an exagerration (he's got plenty of arm). I think Holtz was feeling the pressure after the 2013 offense and wasn't going to lay his career on developing Ryan Higgins. He had just been fired and started off at Tech with the worst offense in Tech football history (arguably). Tech fans calling for his firing 4 games into his first season here. He needed results and quickly.
