It can be the same as adjusting rates, but it isn't always. I fear that his plan doesn't expand the base enough. It's not a bad tax plan, but it doesn't raise the number of people that are paying taxes to the point that will be required to offset the cuts on the top brackets (which I think they deserve).
They are leftist trade policies compared to Hillary who has a more free-market approach. That used to be a conservative position...free markets. The only one with a more leftist market policy is Bernie.
Do I agree that Trump understands what it takes to make money? I don't know. He's had successes and failures. I'm thoroughly convinced that he knows how to get press. Running a country and running a business are not the same thing. They never have been. Businessmen can make good presidents, but being good at business (if I grant you that) is in no way a sufficient reason to make someone president. Enjoy the jabs at the media and Hillary all you want, but they don't get us where we need to be. They make us feel good, but when it comes to specifics of actually making this country great again, Trump is all hat and no cattle.
