The big question to me for this offense will be can we score touchdowns. I think we could move the ball 20-20 on most teams just throwing to Taylor. The problem is when the field shrinks we haven't shown the ability to get it in the end zone. O-Line needs to show its worth this week as the TTech defense sure looked poor against A-State.
One trend I've noticed with this team so far this season is its' lack of scoring on BIG plays. Yes, we've had some big plays, but we typically get stopped inside the 10 or 20 -yard line, etc, and don't "cash it in" on that same play. That makes it harder for us to score TD's. When we don't score on the BIG PLAY, we end up running more offensive plays inside the red zone, fumbling more often, kicking more FG's and scoring fewer TD's.
This is a "trend" that I'm watching closely in 2016. The past two season's LA Tech did a great job of scoring TD's from almost anywhere on the field, because we had experienced "undertakers" like Kenneth Dixon, Jeff Driskel and Cody Sokol, who knew how to drive a stake thru the heart of the defense. This is typically the mark of an experienced team.
