I'm with you there; however, that effort was the first step that got us to where we are today. Politics "ain't" the answer, it is the problem.
We don't want God in our courtrooms, nor our schools, not on our "public" squares either. What should we expect from society? The days of Noah is what we seem to be approaching. Get out in the street and slaughter each other. All we can hope to get from politicians in our secular state of mind is a little law and order. Otherwise, thank God He is in control.

I love this from the article posted. And I think we should vote the party platform or against one of them in this case as a Christian. And I agree with Oldblue.
Fear, or trust in God?
Though we may be tempted to become fearful or despondent, this turmoil in our nation provides a wonderful opportunity to renew our faith in God each day, “for kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations” (Psalm 22:28). We should continue to pray, mindful of what Daniel told King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon long ago: “The Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will” (Daniel 4:17).
To be honest, my words aren't good enough right now (bad week already) to say anything better than just conservatism and Christianity aren't the same thing and that attempting to tie the two together with talk of Christian sins, morals, etc. as the guide pushes people away from conservatism.
What people and where does it push them? Who conflates the two? Granted, I'm a bit of an odd bird (feeling that more and more each day). My lack of support for Trump has nothing to do with his sin or lack of morals (he has both according to Jews, Christians, Muslims, and all sorts of other faiths). My opposition to Trump has everything to do with his big government solutions.
Is this the sort of thing you're talking about? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ligious-right/
