Which team is home and which is visitor?
For the 2016 bowl game, the U.S. Naval Academy is the home team and Louisiana Tech is the visiting team.

Are any team events open to the public?
The Kickoff Luncheon (Omni Hotel), Pep Rally (Tailgate Outpost), Tailgate Outpost and Pre & Post-Game Concerts are open to the public. Check out our Bowl Events page throughout the fall for exact times and dates.

    What are the team hotels?
Official team hotels are the Omni Fort Worth Hotel (U.S. Naval Academy) and the Renaissance Worthington Hotel (Louisiana Tech).

Seriously, it's a reasonable distance, a bowl Tech hasn't already been to, against a ranked (or recently ranked) opponent and basically on a weekend. Sounds good to me.

I think this year, Heart of Dallas & Armed Forces are about equal - you'd play Navy or Army. Both Higher Profile teams than MAC or SBC.

Armed Forces is good because it's on Friday before Christmas at 3:30 p.m.- a lot of us can get off work (or beg off work) and drive over and back on the same day.

Heart of Dallas is Tuesday after Christmas, which might be easier to get off work, but it's at 11 a.m., so most of us would have to get a hotel for Monday night.

It's weird that they went with a rematch in the Army-UNT: North Texas and Army have already played once this season. The Mean Green won 35-18 on Oct. 22 at West Point.

I agree the rematch thing is odd and I know comparing scores is dangerous, but the Dawgs beat a team 45-24 that beat Army 35-18. Don't know that HOD would want to have to market a Tech-Army matchup.

The "Rematch Bowl". Those two programs played each other on October 22nd. I can't believe the HOD went for that, but I'm glad things worked out the way they did.

Yes, at the time TCU was ranked #18 ESPN/USA Today and #16 by the AP.

In the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl, Dykes' Cal Bears beat Air Force 55-36.

Not that that means anything, just an interesting tidbit. Okay, maybe not so interesting....IDK.

For you first timers, Ft Worth is a GREAT little town too. And it is much smaller than Dallas. Unlike when you visit Dallas, you should try to stay DOWNTOWN in one of Ft Worth's downtown hotels near Sundance Square. Downtown Ft Worth is great, and has a lot of restaurants, bars, etc...

    Check out this link.

IMO, this Ft Worth experience will be much better for our fans than the HOD experience. It's a much smaller environment, so you are much more likely to see your friends and fellow LA Tech fans in downtown Ft Worth. And the TCU stadium is not in a ghetto.

Next to New Orleans, this is as good as it gets for Louisiana fans.

Is NAVY the highest ranking opponent of any CUSA team this bowl season?

How far is Sundance Square from the Stockyards? Last time I was in Fort Worth I watched a minor league ball game at LaGrave Field then saw Delbert McClinton's son, Clay, play at the White Elephant Saloon.

2-3 miles to the north on the other side of the Trinity.
