Apparently we MUST keep repeating it until Holtz gets the message. Besides, with decisions like this, Holtz needs a little pressure anyway.
COYHCSH runs the program. We are well past the days of Dan Reneau telling our AD's what to do and when. I don't know a SINGLE fan who was happy with our defense, but COYHCSH does not have rabbit ears. He does what he thinks is best even if he knows it is not working. He is dedicated to his plan to a fault.
Did you really expect him to fire the guy who he gave a huge raise to going into the season? Any fan who has kept up with COYHCSH knew he would not. I think it is silly to "demand" that he be fired when we have no say. I bet not a single person who is so outspoken about Baker has sent COYHCSH an email asking him to fire Baker.
Finally got a smile from this thread! You win this thread... every defensive coach in CUSA would get fired ( not much of exaggeration) ...
Or sent one to Coach Baker asking what he is going to do to improve in 2017.
Baker must be better than I thought. Green Bay and Pittsburgh are both playing his defensive scheme today.
I just wanted to say I think HCSH has been very good for my Tech. Offense has been great, he is a great representative for the program, always class all the way. If a player had not preformed as his DC has he would be benched long ago. Why has Baker not been treated as anyone else in the program would have been. It seems to be a weakness of HCSH. He does not have the killer instinct in him but I dont know. Something needs to be done. Prayers for the defense next year.

Since when did it become the responsibility of the fans to WRITE an e-mail to our soon to be $1 Million per year head coach asking him to fire an under-performing assistant?
On the other hand, if he's too gutless to fire a bottom 10% performer and needs someone to do it for him, then he can WRITE me for advice.Because I would absolutely advise him to do it.
We all knew Baker was never going to be fired. He won't be fired unless pressure is put on Holtz. I personally believe that Baker is in over his head, but Holtz doesn't seem to think so. Baker's schemes are very vanilla. Soft zone coverage coupled with slow developing blitzes. There are no elements of suprise, bumping people off the line, or man to man.
Does anyone know whether Holtz has ever fired anyone on his own? I can't name one.
He seems to insist they find another job...maybe even helps them get another job. IMO, he has done that with at least two assistants since being here.
The thing with Baker is that COYHCSH made an embarrassing move by giving him the raise before the season. Now the bad defense reflects on him, not Baker. Our fans can't seem to grasp that.
Okay, then fire BOTH Baker and Holtz today!!!
