The lighting was paid for with self-assessed student fees from the 2003 Get More referendum about 10 years ago, 2006-07 I believe. The donor paid for the vast majority of the field turf with student fees picking up the tab for the remainder.

I thought the trucker donor gave the field turf and the doctor donor gave the new bulbs...

"Anonymous" doc gave the bulk of the funding for the turf. Lights and balance of turf were funded by student fees.

Honestly, the only thing that really matters is how much earlier in the game my seat will be out of the sun. Everything else is cream cheese.
