Prefab is often higher quality, as they are able to made in a more controlled/shop environment and have more stringent QA. Field work is at the whim of weather, where things like grout can be degraded due to unexpected rainstorms, and inspection/quality checks are more difficult/costly.

See, I'd submit that smaller modules are (almost) always superior, bc small structural failures resulting from manufacturing defects, damage, unanticipated tensile stress, etc, can be patched / pieced in.

But when a big-ass prefab section fails, you have to replace the whole big-ass prefab section.

About 25 years ago I was controller for a company that made concrete panels similar to those being used, along with other precast products. Used to watch how they made them. When I go by some of the buildings where they were utilized, they still look good. What manufacturers do now is even better than what they did back then. Modular construction in the right application saves money and, as I understand it, a stronger end product. I'm not worried about it.
