I voted for Trump and I'll be the first to say he is a terrible person. We as a country have become numb to the constant half truths, attack ads with zero basis in truth, and grandstanding that happens by nearly all political candidates at all levels and we say nothing about it. I thought there was a chance that Trump would actually act presidential once he won and that his victory would stroke his ego enough to be above the sort of shock value statements that are made by Democrats and loved by Twitter and the media. Instead, he has decided to take their usual level of rage and hatred and bump it up a notch, which is unfortunate for our country. I would have expected him to ramp up the BS around a re-election campaign, but it has just been constant. On the other hand, his policies have been good economically, which is his only saving grace at this point.
Ultimately, I think if Biden wins the Democratic bid, his decorum and fairly centrist approach would lead him to victory. But Democrats will pick someone so far left that it will keep people that are embarrassed by Trump voting for him. That is his whole endgame in his current Twitter antics. He knows he can't beat a Biden / Pelosi Democratic party where they maintain their dignity for the most part even when they disagree. But he can rile up his Republican base if they see his true opponents as the four women he is Tweeting at and people like Megan Rapinoe, who are basically the far left twins of Donald Trump and just as repugnant.
I have been consistently critical of Trump's rhetoric. It would help if his Tweets had to pass by someone with tact before being published. He can still make his points without the "over-the-top" tone of his messaging.
But then the left and the leftist media has always been "over-the-top" in the way they lie and twist the truth about Conservatives. For instance, way back when the Repub Congress wanted to change the school lunch program with block grants to the states, thus eliminating some overhead, and thus putting MORE money where the lunch rooms actually were, the Dems and their willing liars in the media accused the Repubs of "wanting to starve our children." Not once did any Dems, media-types, or leftist blogger (which didn't exist at the time anyway) step up and say, "Oh, that's ridiculous. Of course no one wants to STARVE children!"
Trump and the Right (Sean Hannity) learned how to be "over-the-top" watching the libs do it for decades. The biggest problem the libs have is Trump is way smarter, quicker on his feet, and just plain better at it then they are. He's beating them at their own game.
It is true...and a little sad...that I, and many others have grown callous to the antagonistic rhetoric, from all sides. Like the term "racist." It is thrown around so much it has lost its effect. But, even when someone says something "cringe-worthy" it just rolls off the ole duck's back. Heard it all before.
So, while I disagree with Trump's tone...at times...his choice of words...at times...I look past that to the great job he is doing as POTUS. That's the bottom line.
Trump is driving the democrats so far left that it will be a blowout in 2020. People are going to see the democrats as far as they can go to the left with their open borders, free health insurance for anybody crossing our southern border, free college, sanctuary cities and thousands of drug addicts living on the streets and high taxes to pay for all of their socialist programs.
Agree, nicely summed up. The only thing I would add to the bolded part, is that no Republican ever in my lifetime has ever pushed back against the democratic party or media the way Trump has. Many like GW Bush, McCain, Boehner, Paul Ryan etc. have always rolled over, never really stood up to criticism, and allowed both the media and democratic party to continue with their rhetoric.
There is plenty to be critical of...and I don't need some whining anti-Trumper to point any of that out, either. But then again, Trump is just a sinner, just like me, and I have no right to be constantly judgmental. Sound familiar?
Conversely, is there ANYTHING Trump can do right or be complimented on by those that view his very existence as a threat to their happiness? How sad is it that some people's lives revolve around that which they hate the most. Racist white and black organizations waste their lives like this!
I try to not view anything in terms of "Trump". Either I agree with his positions or I don't.....he is personally irrelevant. I did not vote for him (did not vote at all because the only alternative was not acceptable either), but I would vote for him this time because he has attempted to do more things that strengthen this country for my descendants than the previous 4 occupants of the office.
Let us pause a moment to make the critical distinction between "judging" a person's worthiness as a human being and "judging" their ability to perform a job or task.
eg. -- We all judged Jack Bicknell as a downright decent person, but also judged him as a below average football coach.
Obviously, the term holds different meaning in different contexts. To conflate them is a logical fallacy (equivocation).

Not sure who that would be. Trump was considered by many, including me, to be the lesser of two evils.
He has exceeded my expectations. He is trying to do what he said he would do, very unusual for an elected politician.
It’s refreshing, and sometimes uncomfortable, to have a non-politician in the White House that says what he thinks.
He’s exposed the career politicians and the corrupt media. I will vote for him again.
