And the reason why Republicans won’t support it IS NOT for lack of evidence of impeachable wrong doing. Mitch McConnell laid it out bare.
"I'm not an impartial juror," he said flatly. "This is a political process. There is not anything judicial about it. Impeachment is a political decision."
In other words, Republicans aren’t concerned about protecting the constitution - for them it is entirely about what plays best for them politically.
This whole thing has been a sham.. The American people have seen the democrats for what they are. They have still refused to accept the 2016 election because it was HER turn. In the last 3 years they have nothing but hate Trump. They have no alternatives to the 300+ positive things Trump has accomplished in the first 3 years and they know they cannot defeat him in 2020 so they try to tarnish him and the office. Democrats will not only lose against Trump in 2020 they will also lose the House and not take back Senate.

You are missing the point. I don’t defend the democrats. It just so happens that the principles on their side this time. The republicans are the ones that must choose between party and principle. The democrats have the luxury of not having to make that choice this time. They only have to be concerned about the political consequences of doing the right thing, if the situation were reversed, I am not sure they would make a different choice than the Republicans .
We know what he said in both conversations. Only a person who thinks he was serious about asking the Russians to find Clinton's emails would think he was actually asking for a "political" favor. You are ignoring the context of the whole Ukraine situation and the past corruption that your boys Obama and Biden (plus some Republicans) were up to their neck in.

And you guys keep ignoring the fact that this wasn’t a 2 phone call arrangement. The administration has already started the discussions with Zelensky before the first phone call and Trump was still working his Sondland/Guiliani channels to continue to work this quid pro quo after the calls.
Had the whistleblower complaint not come out, we wouldn’t have even known of this abuse of power. And, who knows, Ukraine may have even obliged to make the announcement, allowing Trump’s efforts to gain foreign interference with the 2020 election to ultimately prevail.

First of all Trump said this, "Our country has been through a lot in the last couple of years, I would like for you to do US a favor by looking into any possible corruption tied to the 2016 election". Presidents ask other foreign leaders for favors all of the time, it has happened for hundreds of years.. that is why it is called politics.
Trump never said, "Do ME a favor" He never mentioned Biden. We have a signed agreement with Ukraine that Bill Clinton signed which allowed both countries to work together on corruption and crime.
All of the democrat screeching about withholding foreign aid, it was held up a couple of weeks. If Russia was such a threat, why didn't Obama do anything when he was in office and US was asked for military aid.. this is all drama and theater.. Obama did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when Russia took 1/3 of Ukraine in Crimea annexation.
Basically everything that Democrats have projected Republicans are doing, many Democrats have actually done... DC is scared, very scared. Many are lawyering up as they should. There will be a reconing.

You know he was looking for ammunition against Biden and evidence that he was a victim of Ukrainian interference in 2016.
And I think you know this quid pro quo arrangement didn’t involved just a single phone call. Claiming in a phone call that it was a “favor for the US” during the phone call is just linguistics. Everyone knows that it was a favor for him, personally.
If you watched the impeachment hearings of the House judiciary, you saw plenty of state department civil servants, with well decorated service records, tell you exactly what was going on in the context of our relationship with Ukraine. It was very obvious to those that deal in these matters.
Everyone knew and still knows who the investigation was going to benefit, and it wasn’t the US’s interests. It was Trumps political interests.
Just because Trump called it something other than what it actually was does not make it so.
You saying “everybody knows it” is just as dumb as Trump saying “everybody knows it”. Everybody knows it is not proof or evidence. Still just opinion.
