The point that you might be missing is that once the outbreak spreads, the death rate is a function of how much you exceed your ICU capacity. It is closer to 1 percent if you stay under your treatment capacity. It goes over 6 percent when you exceed it.
Flattening then curve will save 10X the lives because it keeps us from overrunning our resources. SKorea has 3 times our hospital beds.

So China lied for almost 2 months until admitting the Chinese flu was transmitted human to human (note the date below) . Plus In December Trump asked if we could please help and send our American scientist and doctors into China to help. They denied our access to the region. And of course this week kicked out our reporters.

Jeff Landry has said the Governor Edwards has acted within the bounds of the law...that the restrictions he’s mandated have all been legal. Landry is no Edwards fan.

And now we learn this actually began in November, in Wuhan, China, very isolated to a portion of a single market and its customers. But local Chinese medical personnel issued an alert about an infection they could not identify. Provincial Chicom officials covered it up, kept it under wraps, even as they dispatched some medical specialists to Wuhan. Just so happens an Australian doctor was there, doing a joint study on something totally unrelated. But something caught his attention. He started asking questions, offering to help, and the next day Chinese authorities escorted him to the airport with a "Good bye!" But, he was also working with American doctors/scientists on epidemic-related studies and relayed what he had seen. Apparently the CIA, via its spy network, was able to intercept some communications and learned there was a "flu" causing great concern. Not knowing exactly what it was (is), the initial CIA report labeled it as a "flu outbreak." Shortly thereafter the White House was informed. But it was not given much priority by the CIA official delivering the report. About a week later another report came in and that was when the White House grew alarmed. By mid-December we had opened communication with the Chicoms and offered to send a team of our specialists to assist. We were denied. Also, Japan and other allies were monitoring the situation and responded to our inquiries about additional information. But, the Chicoms had thrown a blanket over the place, and information was hard to come by.
Jeff Landry is not the first "conservative" politician to jump on the BS wagon. I'm not saying he (Edwards) is wrong in what he is doing, but that he is doing it in the wrong way (and it is illegal).
He is Trump squared when it comes to lack of tact. Act like you care, not like you enjoy giving out unconstitutional executive orders.

Even in California and La they are sold out of ammo and gun buyers are taking anything. I saw a Vietnamese saying he was afraid of being attacked because of his race and thought huh? He’s not Chinese. Maybe in LA there are bigger problems than black/white as perceived by press and leaders ( I never see it in any interactions I have).
