Even if patient zero got it on November 17, there is no way anyone could positively identify the new virus that quickly.

The Koreans were using this malaria treatment for some time, but now that it has mutated into two types who knows if it work on both and if it continues to mutate this rapidly we may have a nasty time ahead of us.

    This is a panic-demic, not a pandemic.

Makes no sense to isolate healthy adults and children, just the elderly and infirm. We know who the truly vulnerable people are, so shutting everything down makes no sense at all.

What we are doing to the economy is going to kill more people than this pandemic.

Who is going to take care of the elderly and infirm? Other elderly and infirm? I hope you don’t think minimum wage nursing home staff can take care of elderly by themselves.

Who is taking care of them now? Same folks.

If you take care of them, you should steer clear of public places. This isn't rocket science.

If you have a vulnerable person in your household, you should take additional cautions. I do this with the flu, too.

You don’t have to go to a public place to get this. You just have to be indirectly connected to someone that has.

We have some level of immunity to the flu.

It survives in the air for 30 minutes and up to 72 hours on surfaces. It spreads from those who may be asymptotic for 4-10 days after infection.

New C.D.C. data showed that nearly 40 percent of patients sick enough to be hospitalized were aged 20 to 54. But the risk of dying was significantly higher in older people.

Of the 508 patients known to have been hospitalized, 38 percent were notably younger — between 20 and 54. And nearly half of the 121 patients who were admitted to intensive care units were adults under 65, the C.D.C. reported.

Unfortunately, the response to limit the economic damage is already too late. Massive unemployment is here next week. Any payroll relief impact is going to be severely blunted by the delay in getting out. This was all foreseeable. The delay was inexcusable.
