The Courts are supposed to be independent too, but we still label some as conservative and some as liberal. And, as it turns out, they often blindly vote that way.

You are conflating “independent” where used in relation to association with a political party and “independent” when used to describe owing a duty of accountability to the executive branch and its leader - The Fed and courts are both independent in the latter respect, but not necessarily the former.

President Trump says he's been speaking with Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Russia to hopefully ease the stress of the ongoing oil price war.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said Friday that his country will cut its crude oil output by 100,000 barrels per day, joining OPEC and other producers in efforts to stabilize the market.


Lopez Obrador, speaking at his daily press briefing, said President Trump “generously” offered for the U.S. to reduce output by an additional 250,000 barrels a day, according to The Wall Street Journal.

OPEC was hoping Mexico would lower its output by 400,000 barrels a day, and the country's initial delay in joining the pact had jeopardized the arrangement.

"The United States will help Mexico along and they'll reimburse us some time at a later date when they're pepared to do so," Trump said at a press conference on Friday.

I'm loving these lower gas prices, but it's killing Louisiana. We are losing over $15 million per day right now, and that was based on production in the state before the oil war began. I have not seen any data but I assume production is down too, costing us even more. Might be at $20 million/day now.

The oil and gas producing states are also going to miss out on an incredible amount of money per taxes that employees, consultants and the O&G service and E&P companies.

To make the deal work, Trump said he would make US producers cut an extra 250k so Mexico would do 100k. Trump said Mexico will reimburse us at a later date.

What authority does Trump have to dictate US production?

Although Trump previously declared that it was up to the states, and not the federal government, to decide when to shut down the economy, he is now claiming he, and not the states, have the authority to reopen the economy. You can’t make this kind of nonsense up!

With the declaration of a national emergency, all 50 states, the WH is now saying the federal government does hold the final say on reopening for business, that he will work with each governor/state and follow the advice of his newly appointed council on the matter. This is right up to the minute in breaking news...
