Presumed recovered is 74,246 (66%), so 38,727 active cases...by these numbers. If all of those self-isolate, and if people keep wearing masks and social distancing like I am seeing now...although not 100% perfect...then in 2 weeks this sucker should be kicked to the curb! Right?

BTW, at the Walmart on Hwy 28 in Alex they have the one entry/exit set-up still with a security guard stopping people w/o masks. But, he just talks to them, does not provide a mask, and allows them to enter the store. I suppose it's like having a "Beware of Dog" sign on your fence, the mere presence of a threat should be enough to deter "wrong-doers." I didn't see anyone turn around and not enter the store, though. So...

As long as the idiots you see in Walmart and large stores continue to shop in herds with dirty masks dangling around their necks, nothing will change for the better. We'll never be able to have large crowd gatherings until they find a vaccine/cure for this crap.

Just asking. What do you mean by upsurge? I haven't been tracking things as closely as I had been but on July 20th reported 558 total cases and on July 29th up to 662 cases. Average of a little over 10 per day. This isn't much different than the first part of July, maybe a little higher. Also don't know if some backlogged results had been reported which has been the case a few times before. The additional 4 deaths of the same time period is troubling. Also, Lincoln appears to have a lower positivity rate than other parishes (662/11828 = 5.6%).

I know this is the case in many places around the country but if you haven't been tracking from day one and they don't say anything about it, then I'm hesitant to 1) trust reported numbers or 2) falsely ascribe data laundering on the other hand.

It is unknown. There are anecdotes of people getting COVID twice, but it is possible that it was a second flare up of the same infection.

I got a call from the blood center that the blood I donated in June (mine lol) tested positive for the antibodies (I was sick in Feb but didn't get tested then). Just wondered what my odds are of catching it again.

That depends on who wins in November. If Biden wins the whole China Virus crisis hoax will magically vanish! Then we'll see Dem congresspersons lecturing someone they don't like on how the country was "needlessly" put on lockdown, wrecking the economy. If Trump wins, get ready for the Super Virus to make an appearance. And yes, YOU have it too...even if you feel 100% okay.

Some of the antibody tests haven’t had a great track record, but if you had COVID symptoms I would have more confidence.

A separate issue is how long any immunity lasts. The prevailing view is that it won’t last a lifetime, but it is a big unknown because we don’t have data showing how long people keep the antibodies.
