Is testing going up too? Like I said hospitalizations and positivity rates are the key metrics - not cases.
Trump could have done what any other developed country did and we could beyond this crap, too, but elections have consequences. Almost all of the country is mired up in the same situation as Louisiana right now.
Testing in Louisiana has reached 1.4 million tests. Some of that number is duplicates, even triplicates. I don't know, and probably no one knows, how many unique individuals that represents.
As for comparing the US to other countries, last night Laura Inghram did just that. She chose Germany, Italy, and about 4 other European countries to match the population of the US, some 320 million people. We are doing better in every category in comparison to the 6 countries selected. Now, maybe those 6 were chosen not only because of population so as to equal the US, but because they also happen to be struggling against the China virus. That I don't know. But!! in a simple case of apples to apples, the US is doing better than those 6 European countries, and our trends are better too.
Those suffering from TDS are incapable of rational thought, They are so stupid they'll compare the US to one other country that has 10% of our population and then point to raw numbers and scream, OMG! Such-n-Such country is doing so much better! We have 4X the number of cases! (and 10X the number of population).
Carry on all you TDSers...and thanks for the daily chuckles.
Testing has reached 1.47 million
There are 89,083 presumed recoveries, meaning that rate is 71%. Down to about 37K active cases.
Some anecdotal good news, FWIW. A friend works in a financial firm in S'port. They have those little cubby holes with everyone on top of each other. She says there are 43 employees crowded into two large rooms, and they have tried to institute some protocols, which she admits were woefully inadequate. The owners of the firm are old fashioned "slave drivers" and WORK, WORK, WORK! produce, produce! is the battle cry. Well...last week an employee reported they had tested positive for the China virus, and was home sick, with a low fever and feeling icky. The whole firm, a total of 55 employees, including clerical and management, went to get tested. They were prepared for the worst as most of them had bumped into the infected person on several occasions, had had conversations with that person, sometimes while not wearing a mask. Well, 100% negative test results!
That is very good news. But she always said it scared the heck out of the owners, especially one who is obese, a smoker, and not in good health. So! they are getting serious about PPEs and proper protocols, and the owners have agreed to allow some of the employees to work from home, since their duties are all on-line anyway, and they are creating a staggered shift, where 1/3 of the employees are not present allowing more social distancing. My friend is like, wow! that wake-up call got their attention, and the best part about it, no one got infected and violently ill.
Just one small light in all this China Virus darkness...
I don't trust anything in regards to the stats for this China Virus crisis (hoax).
But, tell me what this Dr. Billioux says of persons having multiple tests. I don't think it matters, except only to more accurately count unique individuals tested. But, even that is a "so what?" Some people have a legit reason to be tested again, and maybe even again, depending on their circumstances. By posting what I did, which you quoted, I was merely pointing out that there have been, and will continue to be, persons tested more than once. Such that if the number of tests ever reaches 4.3 million, one will not be able to say, now everyone in Louisiana has been tested, 100%.
