Yeppers! the China virus is THE deadliest disease in human history! Yes, it is! Highly contagious and very lethal. So, why hasn't the numbers reached the levels of the 1918 Spanish Flu or the bubonic plague of the medieval times? Simple...medical science and the information age has thrown a protective shield on the world. We are not seeing the hundreds of millions of deaths from the 2019 China virus because of modern technology, especially medical science. Thankfully we have advanced to the point where we have such scientific capability, else....
But, make no mistake about it, this 2019 China virus is potent! Had it reared its ugly head 100 years ago, it's a good chance 90% of the world's population would have been wiped out. One day the Eskimos would have awaken to a world where they were the dominant culture! A little food for thought for ya. I know, it's scary to think about.

Three people in my immediate family and MANY others close to me. Am I suppose to live in fear and stay hunkered down?
Pretty sure they all caught it at Walmart or at the Tech-HBU game.
I have two sisters, two brothers-in law, and one niece (all of which live in Ruston), as well as several co-workers who have had the Covid virus. One of my sisters and brothers-in-law got the virus in March, early on in the pandemic, and they got pretty ill with it with fever and body aches. The others I know that have gotten Covid19 got infected later, and they all had very minor symptoms for about 10 days and then were over it. This makes me think that this virus has grown less lethal as time has passed. Still, there's no doubt that it's still out there, and that it can be deadly for a very few.
Just had the annual car show in Natchitoches, an outdoors event, but there was very little mask-wearing. This coming weekend is the Melrose festival, again, an outdoors event and they are saying masks are mandatory. But they control access with two staffed gates.
On FB and the local blogs the usual suspects are screaming about the lack of masks at the car show...and for a hearse decorated as the Klinton Suicide Mobile... 1-800-Hang-Yourself...libs are outraged! Back to the masks...many are saying we can expect a huge surge in new cases because people refuse to wear masks, even at outdoor events. We'll see...
BTW, there was a 1967 Camaro with the original "Camaro green" paint job. Love it! The crap green you see on recent models of Camaros is not "Camaro green."
