To me, it still seems like a bigger leap to say, “most secure election ever!” than it is to acknowledge there are multiple examples of real election meddling which may not alter the result but are still numerous and wide ranging enough to warrant serious consideration and corrective action.
Whether in the media or the lefty politicians, all we hear is, “no fraud, no meddling, no irregularities.” Simply untrue.

Attorney Marc Elias filed a request Tuesday on behalf of Democrat Rita Hart that asks the U.S. House of Representatives to overturn the election result in Iowa’s second congressional district, which was won by Republican Marianette Miller-Meeks.
Elias, a partner at the Perkins Coie law firm, was responsible for hiring Fusion GPS in 2016 to compile the “Russia dossier” that led to FBI surveillance of the Trump campaign and the subsequent investigations into supposed “Russia collusion.” He frequently represents Democrats in challenges to election results, and filed lawsuits nationwide to expand vote-by-mail in 2020, including the ongoing runoffs for U.S. Senate in Georgia.

I don't think the fraud occurred via the machines** but rather with old-fashioned ballot box stuffing by the Dems. The fact that most of the questionable ballots had only the POTUS choice marked, and nothing to little, down ballot, shows it was a concerted effort to steal the POTUS election. It is not debatable, the POTUS election was stolen. Thousands of witnesses have come forward and said so.
** on the software itself, well of course the makers are going to deny any wrong-doing or flaws in their system that would allow fraud to occur. Just like tobacco companies for decades denied their product was harmful.
Louisiana's voting machines are "ancient" according to one source, dating back to 2005. But ironically it's exactly that reason that the state's voting process is considered one of the most secure in the nation. Our "ancient" system can NOT be accessed by the Internet or by a computer that has ever touched the Internet. It takes a special computer programmed separately to set the ballots each election cycle. The only drawback, according to critics, and the reason the state is in the market for new machines, is there is no paper trail whereby individual voters can verify their selections they intended were recorded that way. Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin says that is the only "flaw" in our system.
Louisiana was negotiating with two manufacturers and was about to pull the trigger for a purchase of new machines (10,000 of them) in 2018 but a questionable conflict of interest arose with a member of the SOS's office and the deal was postponed. Then guvnar JBE wanted the purchase to be postponed until after his 2019 re-election bid and asked for an extension, granted by the legislature. Financial issues arose thereafter, made worse by the China virus economic crash. But Ardoin says the state is indeed planning to update its system soon. Don't hurry. I think Louisiana has a secure system...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
According to a couple of people here in town, Lincoln Parish used machines with Dominion software for our early voting. They are brand new.
According to the article, which is from October, The Advocate, Ardoin was quoted as saying we would use the old (current) machines for the November 3rd election, with replacements not scheduled until after that. Maybe between the publishing of that article and the election something changed and the state got new machines in. Now that you mention it, those used here in Natchitoches were different than I remembered using, but there was still no paper trail for the voter, which I thought was the primary reason for acquiring new technology. Next time I am at the courthouse I will ask.
