Got my second Phizer shot yesterday. Like the first time have a minor rash, but otherwise no side-effects. Well, the spot is a little sorer than the first time, but was told that it should be that way. Indicates the vaccine is working. In about two weeks I should be 95% bullet-proof.

The NRMC got zero doses this week. Last week they were cut to 300, from a promised 1,500, and this week nada, zilch! JBE says Natchitoches was doing too well and he couldn't have that. Well...

But, I'm sure with Biden now steering the ship we'll be back at full supply again...probably next week!

Over 70 folks are not showing up. They tried to lower the age to 65, but the idiot nixed that. I suppose he will do like the other blue state governors and just hold the shots.

Very few of the region's Health Unit staffs have been vaccinated (they typically deal with the most exposed patient groups) but somehow we found enough vaccines for every volunteer firefighter who wanted it in the Region...

And I'm not against the volunteer firefighters and other first responders getting preferential treatment - just not at the expense of full-time front line workers -

Yep! looks good on the surface. I know a regional pharmacy manager for Walgreens and they are ready to go. They have been doling out flu shots for years. Not knocking it, if it works, great! Just that the problem with federal edicts is they tend to paint with a broad brush. Locally the NRMC has been magnificent and should get every dose of the vaccine available for this area, I would say a 4-parish area. But it looks like they may be out of the loop now.

Anecdotally, the last 5 people I know that got COVID got it from a school age kid. It is running through the schools in my area in a serious way right now.

Nope, we were averaging less than 500k per day 4 weeks ago. We are vaccinating at almost 3 times the rate of 4 weeks ago now.
