I agree with those who say that this process would be constitutional if there was 1 of these things in the constitution. If it said “a President” instead of “the President”, okay. If it said “current or former President”, okay. If it said “removal from office and/or to prohibit a person from holding future office”, okay.
Our founders were much smarter than that. They didn’t put those things in there for a reason.
If we want to swear Trump back in so the standard can be met, by all means, let’s do that.

There is a process that can occur after a President is out of office. File charges and get rolling. There are some in Washington who have expressed interest in pursuing this. I would encourage them to do so.
If you are dead set that this is constitutional and Trump deserves it, can we get you on record acknowledging that comments by Nancy, Chuck, Maxine, and Booker are as bad or worse and should receive equal treatment?
Do you understand the Pandora’s box you open by throwing a former president in jail for what they did in office? We aren’t Russia.
You better believe that Trump would cite the impeachment clause to prove that he can’t be charged further than removal and disqualification.
