I think this is a pretty fair critique of some of the response on the left to the election and some misplaced priorities. It's fine to take issue with the details of our electoral process, but it's possible to go too far with that. It just adds to the instability.

The Senate, the Supreme Court, and the Electoral College not only withstood the pressure applied to each, but did not come close to failing (at least leaving aside the contingency in which Capitol rioters might have succeeded in taking a large number of senators captive). There was a serious challenge to the workings of a democratic transition, for sure, but it did not come from these institutions. Why are we asked to see them as the problem in need of urgent repair?

The left's plan all along was to make the process seem threatened by the right while actually being the one doing the threatenig (with fake mail in ballots). It's what they always do.

It's funny to refer to them as "mail-in" ballots. They really were, and will be again, "blank ballots stored in a secret place until needed then filled in after midnight."

Yep. All they have to do is send in a request for a ballot with a current ID and address (and preferably a good reason why they cannot vote in person) and voting by mail is fine. Oh, they should also have that ballot postmarked by a date PRIOR TO THE ELECTIONS and that ballot should be received PRIOR TO THE ELECTIONS.

Since it is a process that is a magnet for fraud, these ballots should be collected and guarded by all parties concerned and each one reviewed for valid signatures and legitimacy before being counted. Should someone show up to vote that has already received a mail in ballot, that incident should be investigated for potential fraud by the voter or some third party.

Not an issue with mail in balloting at all.

There is so much wrong with this process. No votes should be cast until all debates have occurred. Mail in ballots received after midnight on election night are invalid. Plan accordingly. We all have mobile calendars in our pockets. It’s not difficult to know how all this should go. Don’t accept more mail in ballots than the number that were requested by the date required. No voting unless you have appeared in person with your ID to request absentee or appear in person with ID on Election Day. If you live in a state that mass mails ballots, they should be completed and turned in within enough time they your name can be deleted from that cycles Election Day voter rolls. Whatever that time frame is.

There should obviously be an outer limit about how early you can vote just for practical purposes, but the debates are irrelevant. I wish they'd just cancel them altogether. 100 times out of 100, I'd prefer a policy release on a list of topics.

The debates are actually......pretty dumb. It's a non event where each candidate is following a script and regurgitating poll-tested lines while avoiding any real policy discussions. Each question (normally by very partisan moderators and overwhelmingly Democrats) is met with a practiced statement that has little to do with the question, unless you've been briefed on what was going to be asked by Donna Brazile in a very fair minded way. Very little is learned during the debates except who has polished their acting skills.....but the partisan pundits will hand out their Oscars afterward and declare their candidate the winner.

Well, I did learn that Castro was a great man with a wonderful literacy program, so I can't say you don't learn anything during a debate. But my point still remains.
