Joakes on us signs worked in earlier times. Maybe it’s time for, Skip needs to Skip town signs?

Dr Wood says Tech defenders would've knocked down that final pass if only they'd had an indoor practice barn.

It's the fans' fault! Donate today!

In that single year, Dykes did more for Tech than Skip has done during his entire tenure as a bulldog. During Skip’s time at at Tech, we haven’t beaten a single P5 in regular season and we’ve also been beat by a lowly instate FCS team (almost a second instate FCS team last weekend). You could refer to the last SMU matchup but that was a unique situation, as Dykes inherited that team late in the season. You could refer to the bowl wins against Miami and Illinois but those were P5 wins against bottom of the barrel P5s that should have never gotten bowl invite in the first place. Then there’s a whole slew of single point losses reflecting games that Skip failed to finish (Arkansas, South Carolina, and MS State just to name a few).
    Fixed that!

My wife told me today that she was surprised that I’m not upset about the loss. I care deeply about Tech, but not football. I follow it, but the Holtz era has made me apathetic. It’s more entertaining to me to have that mindset, because watching Tech football is better than most comedies. I know I’m not alone. I remember when a game like this would have generated 700+ posts. We not even to 300 two hours after the game.

This forum shows just how far Tech has fallen. I bet the administrators of the board could tell you accurate numbers, but my guess is traffic is just awful now.

You couldn’t be more correct... Stoicism is probably the best approach to cope with this crap (an alternate viewpoint that aids in shifting my mindset away from the inevitable letdown). For me, the Saint’s success while having Drew Brees under center has been the one consistent thing that I’ve been able to bank on during football season. They actually have the second to highest winning percentage over the past 5 years so that’s been a nice distraction over the Holtz era.

Fortunately, Winston actually played better last week than I expected. I guess time will tell though. Anyways, that’s how I cope with it. If I spent all year solely looking forward to these epic letdowns that Tech continually gives us, I’d lose my mind.

I seriously believe you could literally pick any coach in the country with a winless record and put them the coach of this Tech team and he’d be 3-0. This team has some very capable athletes. For the most part they really do compete and they don’t quit even when they have every reason to knowing who’ll decide things on the sideline. It’s just that as we all know so repeatedly well, we have the absolute, all time, worst closing coach in the country.

Speaking of Winston, I think he can be a good QB. He has the arm and serviceable feet. I really don’t think he had anyone ever teach him how to be a good QB. I just personally feel like he probably skated by on being a better athlete his whole life until he got to the NFL. He got to Tampa and found out he wasn’t. Maybe they didn’t have the staff to teach him etc. I am hoping the time with Drew and Sean has made a difference.

The NFL has proven many times over the bus driver can get you a Superbowl if the team around them is good. I would rather dominate but I’ll take another Super Bowl anyway I can get it

They at least wouldn't have lost all 14 of the games that Holtz teams have blown with 4th quarter leads at Tech.

When I told my wife that Tech lost on a last second Hail Mary pass, she didn't hesitate, said "well, that's just classic Tech".

We expect to lose. Just plug in the reason. It’s time to change.

Sad but my dad called and told me that too. Said the same thing after the MS State game. Tech just can't take one step without taking two steps back. As someone said earlier, we are cursed. Somewhere down the line we were cursed. You just can't make up the many shortcomings and collapses TECH athletics has had over the years. Yes, we have had good times or sparks of greatness but man have we just pissed away SO many opportunities that it is just truly unbelievable. Our athletes deserve better or ever shrinking diehard fanbase deserves better. Hope and apathy is a brutal thing.

With enough time that hope turns to laughter.
